Home Alone

A while ago there was a movie called "Home Alone" (1990) and subsequently followed by its sequel "Home Alone 2" (1992) acted by Macaulay Culkin. I thought it was just pure entertaining and the story line was built around the creativity and ingenuity of this little kid occupying his time after being left alone at home due to circumstances.

Relating to it is our real life home alone experience where you are either left with an empty house or apartment/condominium when the rest of the family members went on a holiday trip or when you have pissed off your wife big time that she has brought the kid(s) and maid(s) back to the in-laws.

All of a sudden you felt so vulnerable to fictitious threats and began to be more paranoid about every little thing or sound especially in the middle of a quiet night. Double locked the doors and arm the house alarm etcetera that you will never ever practice in a normal day abruptly took priority including earlier bedtime as though the day would end quicker.

On a flip side of the same coin home alone means becoming a bachelor again…totally single totally carefree…apart from watering the pot plants or feed the fish/dog so that they will not die of thirst or hunger. The phone numbers of old buddies, party goers and pub hopping pals would be the top 10 most frequently dialed numbers for the entire duration.

Catching up with dinner mates followed by karaoke, drinks…wow! This is getting way too exciting! Just can’t wait until the end of office hour…and it’s Party! Party! Party! all over again. Life is THAT good when you are young and single…and not forgetting about going through the pile of XXXX movies that you are not able to watch with kids around the house. You get the drift…

While you are a bachelor again, you can try this…

This one is funny home alone cartoon clip dub in punjabi…

And finally, organize bachelor parties...

The following clip was classified as 18SX and deem NOT SUITABLE for minors...enjoy!

Islands In The Sun

I have always loved the beach and the sea...simply because it reminds me of the time when I can fully relax, completely stress-free and do absolutely nothing (apart from some moderate bed time adult activities). And to have the one you love with you would no doubt double the joy (not forgetting the romance) in paradise...

As you grew older, family expanded and going to a beach resort with the whole gang and you will suddenly found yourself stressed over what to do, what to eat and how to keep the kid(s) occupied and safe during the entire duration on the very same beautiful and romantic island resort….and by the way, you can forget about any form of adult activities with your missus. Not unless you kept it very very quiet and dare to take the risk of a younger child standing next to your bed with a bamboozled look and ask “What are you doing on top on Mommy, Dad?”

You can laugh about it but in reality that is how life’s taking a 360 degree change from being young, free and easy to mature, responsible and committed with next generation of you.

So, what’s left would be a bunch of memories….you can only dream about and wish you can turn back the clock but you know that will not happen…Farewell Island Resorts…

Guffaw of The Day

Have you ever wondered why there are so many male ballet dancers? If you see the following video clip (I think it's the second in the sequence) you will find the answer...and at the same time, you may wish to re-consider your wife's decision to send your daughter to ballet classes.

Do you believe in "practice make perfect"? Not always the case though if you see the following clip where the guy rehearsed a couple of times trying to jump over a table and chair but failed when he actually performs it...not being a sadist but this is damn funny...

I wonder if IKEA would consider placing a 'water' bed like this and let the customer to try it out...

And finally, imagine your kids doing all these...

4000+ Visitors Mark!

After more than 3 years of writing this virtual diary, I finally saw the total visitors count charting 4,000 (actually should be more if not because of me changing to another counter application around the end of my first blogging year).

What is the significance of 4K? None at all...some sites probably generate more hits than that in one day. But it's good enough for me as that should roughly translates into 200 odd people whom may have read my blog pages. So, that 200 odd people may also have told their family and friends about the silly stories or funny video clips that they once read/viewed here. That should cheer some people for a short while...I know I am.

And the memory of those happy tales should last longer than the 4,000 dominoes like the one below:

Well...at least I don't react like the video blogger below when she has recorded her first 4,000 subscribers:

One Life - Live it!

If you have one life, do you live it to the fullest? i.e. do things that are potentially harmful to yourself (e.g. smoke pots, drugs, bungee jumping, etc.) and hurting people around you (either feelings or physical damages), things that you know is going to cut short your life, things that give you short term enjoyment but brings long term negative side effects etcetera.

Or alternatively, you can choose a healthier lifestyle but ultimately gain a couple of extra miles to your relatively short life to do more meaningful endeavors but not necessarily compact events of life.

It’s in your hands! Just like a major Telco’s punch line…and it's your interpretation of a short life. Definitely not about regrets or not having chance to do them even though they were known to be not appropriate.

2. Toyota RAV4 - Is it worth killing for? Really that good?

3. Shower - Better don't let your kids see this otherwise they may learn the trick...

4. LynxJet - In your dreams...

5. JBC - If this fashion brand is so powerful, why do they need a commercial...

6. Ikea creative Ads - Make full use of living space

Have a good weekend!

Any Other World

Is there such a thing as Another World or Any Other World for that matter? Based on my shallow and bare little knowledge of the religions, I understand that:

1. Buddhism preaches about re-incarnation so the other world is actually the same world but the different is that you may not be re-entering as a human but could be other form (a wild boar or an insect ... may be ... don't get offended!)

2. Christian/Catholics says you will be saved and join your Lord/God in Heaven...hence the other world is Heaven. So, for those non-believers will go to the other Other World which is not Heaven. (I don't like to use Hell as it may be just another place where it refuge those failed applicants to Heaven due to their sins and wrong doing during their Earthy or other galaxy's life)

3. Islam also draws the distinction between Syurga (Heaven) and Neraka (Hell) after life...so, we can safely say the other world for the followers would be either one of those depending on the judgment by thy God (Allah).

4. Taoism is a wee bit more complex based on my understanding. The Other World after death may be the present world (for those that do not wish to 'go' but choose to stick around to finish off the un-accomplished businesses) or one of the 18 levels of Hell for the souls that have committed certain serious misdemeanor in their present life. And for the good guys and gals, they will be ‘elevated’ to become deities and holy beings. I don’t really know if this is the same palace where the Jade Emperor reside or their version of heaven.

And for all other minor religions, cults and spiritual practices, the common believe was that they too have a distinguish separation between person of evil and the followers of their faith. Hence, it is safe to corroborate that there is such thing called “The Other World”.

That leaves people like yours truly…the free thinkers and people without a faith (or not ready to accept any just yet…so that they can commit all wrong doings before finally admitted to one faith and starts life after as a pure and cleansed aficionada). Where are they gonna go? Or perhaps they don't travel any where after completing their mission in this life...they will simply fade away and become part of the present world but the most un-lifely part of it.

With that, I leave you with this very nice (some said it’s sad) tune from Mika called “Any Other World”. The background was Final Fantasy for those of you whom may recognize the characters and panorama.

Cheesecake Factory above Macy's Union Square

Back in one piece after a 10 days break in the US west coast. It was a very enjoyable but tiring trip I must admit. Although we (group tour with GTT) have only covered Anaheim (Disneyland & Universal Studio), Los Angeles (Hollywood), San Diego (historic town), Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and San Francisco, the trip was reasonably relax if you are not planning to shop till you drop like some of us.

Food consumed during this trip was nothing to shout about...mostly Chinese and buffet style. But, there is this one cheesecake store on the 7th floor of Macy's near Union Square, San Francisco that you must try if happen to be around there.

Some pictures to show just in case you are a cheese cake fan...

More selections...Didn't manage to try these...maybe next time...

Yummy...these are really killer...
