Merdeka! Happy 49th Birthday Malaysia!

Almost 5 decades Malaysia has live through its independence from the British Empire. So many turmoil, political issues, financial crisis, sensitive racial conflicts etc. BUT we still survived as an Independence Nation.

I am not particularly the patriotic type but somehow every year this time, one tends to recall the history and chat about the ups and downs, matters that concerned all and incidents that nearly took us apart.

Next year's Hari Kemerdekaan is going to be the half-centennial (grand!) celebration, I was wondering if our current PM will remain his modest self and have just a low profile quiet celebration...hopefully not.
